Kensington Leisure Centre once again put on Give It Your Max tennis camps for local residents aged 5-11 years. There were two camps, one in the morning and one in the afternoon over two days during the May half term holiday.

These camps are for participants of all abilities and offer a valuable opportunity for local children to play tennis and be physically active. All equipment is provided and the camps are delivered by  LTA Level 3 coaches with a wealth of experience in delivering tennis camps.

It was very pleasing that both camps were full which shows once again that the camps are very popular and important for the local community to help provide physical activity and chances to develop skills and make new friends.

Feed back has again been great from parents…

Both children loved it so much in fact just this morning they asked if they’re going tennis today and hoped they were going all week. See you next half term.

He thoroughly enjoys tennis camp and this is one activity that he feels really comfortable with. His confidence has grown so much since attending, even his Co ordination has gotten better and even being around new people. I do believe that Tennis Camp has helped as he has ASD massively. Thank you.

GIYM is a UK tennis charity, which has the purpose of introducing primary school aged children to tennis. The majority of the children who participate in their programmes come from inner city areas where tennis is not traditionally played and who might not otherwise receive an opportunity to play tennis without GIYM’s funding. GIYM’s objectivities in particular are to help enable children to develop their social, physical and cognitive skills in a healthy, sporting environment.

GLL has been working closely with GIYM for a number of years to provide tennis provision for local children, with the next camps taking place at Kensington Leisure Centre during the summer holidays.
