Welcome to Waltham Forest Pool And Track

About our facility

Your new Better, Waltham Forest Leisure Centre will be opening in around 18 months’ time. The centre will be built next to the athletics track off Chingford Road, where the former Pool and Track building once stood. While the athletics track – which was resurfaced in 2015 – will stay as it is, the new centre will be built from scratch, offering a range of facilities, including:

  • New 25m, eight lane competition pool, with 250 spectator seats, for gala events
  • New teaching pool
  • 1m and 3m diving boards
  • State-of-the-art gym with 132 pieces of equipment
  • New group exercise studios
  • Four-court sports hall and an outdoor floodlit artificial sports pitch – perfect for a spot of five-a-side football
  • Extreme sports zone complete with climbing wall and skateboard and BMX areas
  • Both wet and dry health and wellbeing spa areas, from Spa London.

The scheme will make the centre one of the largest health and sports centres in London, and makes this the last of the borough’s leisure centres to receive an overhaul.
