While essential maintenance works to the 50m swimming pool and diving pool at Crystal Palace have progressed, surveys have revealed further remedial work is needed.
We understand that customers will be disappointed that we are not able to reopen the pools, nor do we have a date as to when the pools will open due to the scale and complexity of the works required, and the nature of dealing with a 60-year-old building.
We continue to work hard with our partners at the Greater London Authority (GLA) to get these prestigious facilities back in use as soon as is reasonably possible.
The 25m pool is open for fitness swimming and both this and the teaching pool are open for lessons.
All dry side activities are also open.
Facility availability is subject to Covid restrictions – visit www.better.org.uk for details.
Facilities and programmes at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre are provided by GLL – a not-for-profit charitable social enterprise. GLL has been awarded a contract extension to continue operating Crystal Palace on behalf of our partners at the GLA. The extension period will see significant GLA investment in the facilities – worth £500,000 over the next two years.
We will provide an update on the likely reopening date in due course and meanwhile thank our customers for their continued support and patience.
