Our fully equipped, air-conditioned gym offers a range of fitness equipment for everyone.

Our members can choose from cardiovascular machines such as treadmills and rowers, resistance equipment including free weights and dedicated stretching areas and fitness aids such as Swiss balls.

For a fitness programme tailored to your needs, just ask a Better fitness instructor and they'll be happy to put together a workout to suit you.

Before using the gym you'll need to complete an induction, so our fitness instructors can check you are well enough to train. As well this gives you the opportunity to get advice about other activities the centre may offer which could help you achieve your fitness goals.

Re-focus sessions are available to you at any time, where our fitness instructors will mix up your fitness programme. Did you know that keeping your workout more varied and challenging will actually keep you much fitter?

Fitness Classes

To vary your workout why not try a fitness class. We now have an all new timetable at Rivermead Leisure Complex and Gym.

The programme includes all of our popular classes such as Group Cycle in our new air conditioned and themed lighting studio, Dance Aerobics and Yoga combined with a number of new classes located on Reading's only double octagon frame or in new functional training area.

The functional training area is a large astro-turfed space designed for high intensity classes such as Total Body Conditioning and Circuits.  All of the classes held in this area will utilise our new equipment such as kettlebells, plyometric boxes, battle ropes and more.

The double octagon frame will have 10 activity stations designed for core and body weight exercises that will be fantastic for those wanting to improve their all round fitness and conditioning.  Classes being held on the frame wil include Functional Circuits, Core Function and Stamina and Endurance.
