Rivermead Leisure Centre, Reading
The brand-new Rivermead Leisure Centre is a flagship development which provides first class leisure facilities as part of the £40m reinvestment into upgrading sport & leisure centres in Reading. As a charitable, social enterprise the centre is working in partnership with Reading Borough Council to deliver high quality facilities to the local community. These include a 120 station gym which offers various fitness zones for cardio, strength and resistance training. Alongside this, a state of the art Group Cycle studio and two large exercise studios fitted with virtual technology. Facilities also include a 6 court sports hall, Better Café, Children’s Soft play, 3 Party Rooms, and a full-size all-weather pitch. 2024 will see the addition of an 8-lane competition swimming pool, together with a diving / teaching pool. Both the main pool and the diving pool will be fitted with movable floors. In addition there will be spectator seating for approximately 300 including a disabled spectator viewing gallery. The centre is home to various sport clubs including Reading Swimming Club, Albatross Diving Club, Pro Taekwon-Do and the Sue Pheby Dance Academy. Rivermead Leisure Centre is located just a short walk from the town centre, Reading Station and the Oracle, Reading’s main shopping centre. Once completed, there will be 112 standard car parking spaces available, including 14 EV charging points, 22 accessible and 14 family spaces. There are an additional 202 spaces available in our overflow car parks The new Rivermead Leisure Centre has a modern structure for a light and airy atmosphere and offers a wide range of health and fitness activities to the local community, for all ages and abilities. We also have a hearing loop available at our reception desk to assist individuals with reduced ranges of hearing.
