
All courses run 10am – 4pm, and children will need to bring a packed lunch (unless otherwise stated in the course information).
2nd July – RYA Sailing taster session and Stage 1 sailing course
3rd July – RYA Sailing taster session and Stage 1 sailing course

Introduction to sailing day course: Centred around learning the basics of sailing a small sailing dinghy. Course includes: Rigging, launching, steering and basic sail control (starting and stopping), turning a boat (going about), how to paddle a sail boat, what the parts of a boat are called and how to understand the wind direction. Upon course completion participants will have a basic understanding of how a sail works and will have experience of steering/ handling a boat.
No previous knowledge is needed for this course. You can book onto this course either as either a single day or both days.
9th July – RYA Sailing Stage 2 course
10th July – RYA Sailing Stage 2 course
£60 per person per day
Building on skills learnt in stage 1 the course covers boat rigging, launching and on the water boat handling so sailors can competently and independently sail in all directions. Capsize recovery and essential sailing and safety knowledge will be taught and practiced along with rope work, basic sailing meteorology and sailing rules.
Prior sailing knowledge/ experience is required for the course. This could come from stage 1 certification, past involvement with our swallows and amazon course or equivalent sessions. If you are unsure if this is for you, please give us a call and we will happily discuss this with you.
17th July – British Canoeing Paddle Start course
£60pp
This course is designed for those who are just starting out on their paddling journey. During the day you will get to experience Kayaking, Canoeing and Paddle Boarding. You will learn the basics to get you out on the water safely, and by the end of the day you can earn your first certificate in paddlesports – Paddle Start.
This course is aimed at those between the ages of 8 – 16.
25th – 29th July – Swallows and Amazons week
£250 per person (Full week of activities)
Join us for a week of watersports fun, following in the footsteps of adventures from Arthur Ransome’s beloved children’s book. The main focus in this week will be sailing, but we will also have a go at Kayaking, Canoeing and Paddle boarding, as well as some dryland fire building and den making – Just like in the books. This is a week for those who like to pretend to be pirates and look for buried treasure, who want to learn to sail in the 7 seas, and of course know why pirates are called pirates…….. Because they Arrrrrrr!
This course is aimed at those between the ages of 8 – 16.
3rd August – Kayak/SUP Discover course
£60 per person
This is a day for children who have already had a little bit of experience in paddlesports and are wishing to continue their journey and develop their skills. They will get a chance to go in Kayaks, Canoes and on Paddle-boards, with the aim of developing skills, exploring places you can only reach by paddling and of course having lots of fun doing it!
Prior paddling knowledge/experience is required for the course. If you are unsure if this is for you, please give us a call and we will happily discuss this with you.

4th – 5th August – RYA stage 1- 2 course
£120 per person
Thursday 4th (day 1) is stage 1 focused giving an Introduction to sailing: Centred around learning the basics of sailing a small sailing dinghy. Friday 5th (day 2) builds on day 1, sailing skills and knowledge are progressed so sailors can competently and independently sail in all directions. Capsize recovery along with essential safety knowledge, rope work and sailing rules will be taught and practiced. With the aim of achieving stage 2 by the end of the two day course.
No previous knowledge is needed for this course. However prior splash day experience is recommended along with being water confident, ready to learn and have fun.
This course is aimed at those between the ages of 8 – 16.
15th – 19th August – The Millerground Adventure Week (TMA for short!)
£250 per person
This is the perfect week for budding adventurers. We will do all our usual watersports fun with kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and sailing boats, as well as some land based adventures including a walk, orienteering, fire building and den making. Each day will be different and based around the weather for the week. So if your little adventurers fancy some time in the great outdoors, this is the course for them!
This course is aimed at those between the ages of 7 – 16.
22nd August – Sharks splash days
£60 per person
This is a day for the youngsters, specifically tailored for those aged 4-7, who are comfortable in and around water. These sessions will give all the youngsters a chance to try sailing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Paddle boarding and raft-building, in short taster sessions. It has a huge emphasis on fun, just getting out on the water, and building confidence to do new things. (This session is run with qualified instructors and a qualified teacher to make sure the younger children are safe and happy at all times.)
This is a course aimed at children between the ages of 4 (reception year) – 7.
23rd August and 30th August Splash days Primary 5-11 years
24th August and 1st September Splash days Junior 8-16
25th August and 2nd September Splash days Teenage 12-16

This club is designed for anyone who wants to go on an adventure. There will be an emphasis on watersports but we will not always be on the water. We will Sail, Kayak, Canoe, Raft-build, Paddleboard as well as make fires, build dens, go on walks – anything that gets us out into the great outdoors having an adventure. Each session will be different depending on the weather and taken by qualified instructors each week.
We are opening this out to all ages (4+ years)
