Essential roof repairs prompt temporary move for library services in Stamford

From 13 September 2021, the team from Stamford Library will be providing a Click and Collect service from the Stamford Day Centre on Ryhall Road while the main site temporarily closes due to essential roof repairs.

To protect the library building for future generations’ extensive work, including a roof replacement is needed. As it is a Grade II listed property the work needs to be done sensitively and considerately to protect the historical significance of the building.

Therefore, the library temporarily closed on 13th September 2021 and is due to reopen in early January 2022. This is the first phase of repairs at the site over the coming months, however it is envisaged future works following this initial closure will not require the site to close again.

The return dates for items on loan have been extended so that no one worries about items going overdue.

Library staff will operate a Click and Collect service from the Stamford Day Centre, 9am - 3pm Monday to Thursday and 9am - 4pm on a Saturday, to ensure that no one runs out of new reading material. The team at Stamford Library can be contacted via email on Stamford.library@gll.org should you or someone you know need assistance ordering items

Our digital library also provides free access to thousands of ebooks, eaudiobooks, emagazines and enewspapers. Find out more by visiting https://prism.librarymanagementcloud.co.uk/lincolnshire/assets/-/pages/ebooks_eaudio.html

We are sorry for any inconvenience the closure may cause and appreciate your understanding.
