Festive Events in Bromley Libraries: Week 1, 2, and 3

• Be closed from 1pm at the 24th of December.
• Be closed on the 25th and 26th of December. 
• Libraries reopen on the 27th of December. 
• All branches will close by 5:30pm on Wednesday the 31st of December for New Years Eve.
• All libraries will be closed on the 1st of January 2026, reopening on the 2nd (where relevant).

Week 1 

• Stay and Play at Burnt Ash Library. Toys, Christmas story and simple Christmas craft. From 10:00 to 10:45. Suitable for Children aged 18 months to 3 years. No booking required.

• Little Crafters at Christmas at Shortlands Library, from 10:30 to 11:15. Suitable for children aged18 months to 4 years. No booking required.

• Coffee Morning at Chislehurst Library. Festive coffee morning followed by Red Hill School children's choir. From 10:00 to 11:30. Suitable for Adults. No booking required.

• Christmas Craft at Burnt Ash Library. Fun craft activity to make a Christmas wreath! From 14:30 to 15:30. Suitable for Children aged 3 to10 years. No booking required.
• Seasonal Special Saturday Craft Club at Shortlands Library. Sparkly Santa Squishy, from 14:30 to 15:15. Suitable for children aged 4 -11 years. Booking required, contact library.

Week 2

• Books Aloud at Burnt Ash Library. Fun themed Christmas story and Christmas craft! From 16:00 to 16:45. Suitable for Children aged 4 to 8 years. Booking essential, contact library.

• Little Crafters at Christmas at Shortlands Library, from 10:30 to 11:15. Suitable for children aged18 months to 4 years. No booking required.

• Lego Club at Penge Library. Join us for a Festive Themed Lego session, from 14:15 to 15:15. Suitable for children aged4-8yrs. Booking required, contact branch from WB 8/12.
• Seasonal Special Saturday Craft Club at Shortlands Library. Reindeer decoration, from 14:30 to 15:15. Suitable for children aged4 -11 years. Booking required, contact library.

• Online Basics at St Pauls Cray Community Support Centre. Interested to learn about the basics of the internet? call us on 020 8402 0123 for more details. From 10:00 to 11:30. Suitable for Adults only. 
• Listening Ear Group at St Pauls Cray Community Support Centre. A coffee morning and support group for mild anxiety or stress. Feel free to call us for more information on 020 8402 0123, from 10:00 to 12:00. Suitable for Adults only. 
• Tea & Topics Christmas Party at Shortlands Library, from 14:15 to 17:00. Suitable for children aged4 -11 years. No booking required.

• Age UK Coffee Morning at St Pauls Cray Community Support Centre. Enjoy this lovely coffee morning provided by Age UK, from 10:00 to 12:00. Suitable for Adults only. 

• Christmas Coffee Morning at Burnt Ash Library. Carols sung by the choir from Parish Primary  School  followed by coffee/tea and mince pies.  All welcome. From 11:00 to 12:00. Suitable for adults. No booking required.
• Festive Bounce & Rhyme at Penge Library. Sing and Bounce along to our festive tunes and join us afterwards for some festive refreshments. From 10:00 to 11:30. Suitable for children aged0+. No booking required.

• Laura Mucha Author Event at Orpington Library. Laura will be sharing her recently published fantastic picture book with us, 'Porridge Please!' illustrated by Marc Boutavant and a couple of her wonderful poems, there will be a fun activity to follow. Laura’s books will be available to buy and Laura will sign them. From 11:15 to 11:45. Suitable for Children. No booking required.
• Father Christmas visit at Orpington Library. He'll be showing up at 12:00-- don't miss him! From 12:00 to 12:30. Suitable for Children. No booking required.
• Festive Reads & Father Christmas returns! at Orpington Library. Orpington staff members and the Children’s Team will be sharing some festive reads and a festive craft activity will be available to take home or do in the library. Father Christmas again will be joining us and having a dance at our very special Orpington Library Silent Disco! Do join us if you can. From 16:00 to 16:45. Suitable for Children. • Author Nathanael Lessore opens the Teenage & Young Adult area at Orpington Library. Multi-award winning GLL Literary Foundation author Nathanael Lessore will be cutting the ribbon and opening our new, Teenage and Young Adult Area. Come and listen to Nathanael chat about his shortlisted Carnegie Medal for Writing books, ‘Steady for This’ and King of Nothing’ and ask him questions. Nathanael’s books will be available to buy and signed by Nathanael. From 17:30 to 18:30. Suitable for All. No booking required.
