Junior Parkrun Funding Secured | Volunteers Now Needed

We’re delighted to announce that funding has been secured for a free Junior parkrun at Montrose Park, Colindale, thanks to the generous support of Berkeley Group.

This weekly 2km event, held every Sunday morning for children, offers a fun and safe way to get active, typically taking just 20–30 minutes to complete. It will particularly benefit children from West Hendon, Colindale and Burnt Oak, though everyone is very welcome to take part.

To bring this event to life, we’re looking for volunteers to help with setup and delivery each week. Volunteering is enjoyable, not time-consuming, and full training will be provided.

If you’re interested in getting involved, we’d love to hear from you - please contact Naomi Stanford (naomi@stanford.cc) or Penny Harper-Wilkinson (penny.harper-wilkinson@parkrun.com)

Thank you to everyone who attended Dance Barnet!

The sparkling Dance Barnet Finals - the second pan‑disability, Strictly-inspired dance competition in partnership with Step Change Studios - took place recently at the Pentland Theatre, artsdepot in North Finchley.

The event followed an auditions process involving almost 100 participants, ranging from children to older adults. From these, ten outstanding finalists aged 12 to 97 were selected to perform on the night.

These finalists lit up the stage with their talent, creativity, and passion, showcasing what Dance Barnet is all about: celebrating accessible dance and encouraging more disabled people and those with long‑term health conditions to get active and express themselves through movement.
