Brompton World Championship is coming to Lee Valley VeloPark
Lee Valley VeloPark is set to welcome one of cycling's most unique and entertaining events as the Brompton World Championship 2026 arrives on Saturday 5 September.
Hosted at the iconic Olympic venue in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the Brompton World Championship will bring together 650 riders from across the UK and around the world for the biggest edition of the event yet. Known for its famous Le Mans style start, competitors will sprint to their folded Brompton bikes before unfolding them and racing around the circuit in a spectacular celebration of speed, style and community.
This year's championship promises more excitement than ever before, with a record breaking field of riders competing across qualifying heats before the fastest men and women battle it out in the finals to be crowned Brompton World Champions 2026. Riders are encouraged to swap traditional cycling kit for creative outfits inspired by their city, country, culture or imagination, making it one of the most colourful and distinctive events on the cycling calendar.
New for 2026, the event will also feature the exciting BWC Relay Race, where teams of four riders compete in a fast-paced relay, alongside the Hydro Scrap Lap award, celebrating the most creative, entertaining and memorable lap of the day rather than outright speed.
The action extends far beyond the racing, with visitors able to enjoy a full festival atmosphere throughout the day. Highlights include Brompton bike demos and test rides, folding competitions, workshops and community talks, an exhibitor village featuring leading cycling brands, exclusive merchandise, food and drink, and entertainment for all ages.
