Mobile Library

The Lincolnshire Mobile Library Service provides a wide range of books, information, talking books and DVDs to rural communities across the county.

Library membership entitles you to access all areas of the Library Service: our Core (staffed) Libraries, Community Hubs and the Mobile Library Service. 

Mobile Library in North, South & East Lincolnshire

These mobile libraries offer public library access to rural communities throughout Lincolnshire. We currently visit 190+ different locations on a two or four weekly timetable.

You can use the mobile library just like your local static library. We have a range of popular fiction and non-fiction titles to choose from as well as novels in large print, talking books and DVDs. 

If a particular item is not on the shelf then you or our helpful staff can utilize the online library catalogue to reserve from another library, for you to collect at future visits. You can also return items borrowed from the mobile library to any other library location in Lincolnshire.

Other mobile library services

Aside from our regular mobile library service, we also operate the following additional services.

Access Mobile Library

Our Access Mobile service is available to anyone who cannot reach a core staffed library or community hub due to location, health or mobility issues.

We operate a four weekly rota where staff will deliver items right to your door, offering a friendly tailored service to suit your needs.

Community Mobile Library

Our Community Mobile Library delivers hand picked collections of books to residential care homes and sheltered housing settings across Lincolnshire. 

Collections are regularly refreshed and can be tailored to suit the needs and interests of residents.

How can I access the mobile library?
To access the mobile library, you first need to sign up for a Lincolnshire library membership. Next, check the timetable for your local area. This will let you know the correct stops, times, and dates. All you need to do is turn up, and our friendly librarians will take it from there. 

Please note, if you’re unable to leave your home due to mobility or health reasons, then you will require the Access Mobile Library services instead. Get in touch via the contact link below for more information.
Can non-members take out books from the mobile library?
You need to be a member of Lincolnshire Libraries to borrow stock, its quick and easy to sign up here Lincolnshire library membership.
Is the mobile library service offered anywhere outside of Lincolnshire?
If you live outside of Lincolnshire, your local library will be able to tell you if a mobile library operates in your area.
How do I return books to the mobile library?
You can return items borrowed from the mobile library at any mobile stop, core (staffed) site or Community Hub.
