Room hire

How to book a room

Visit our room booking portal. Select your preferred date and time slot for your chosen room.
Add any special requests or requirements.* Once you're happy with your selection, check out.
Create a Bromley libraries account or login to your existing library account and complete your booking.
Complete your payment. You'll get an email confirming payment for your booking.
If necessary, a member of staff may be in touch to confirm further details.

Small meeting rooms

These rooms have a varied capacity and are ideal for hosting smaller meetings, interviews, and workshops.

Which rooms are available?
In the Bromley Central Library building, we have two small meetings rooms ideal for 1-4 users, and a workshop room ideal for up to 15 users. West Wickham, Beckenham and Penge Libraries all have spaces perfect for community group use. 

Who are they suitable for?
These rooms are ideal for students, working professionals, study groups, and other smaller meetings.

What do these facilities include?
Our small meeting rooms include free access to a public PC, and Wi-Fi if you'd like to use your own device, while our workshop room features a smartboard connected to a public PC. 

A standing whiteboard with a paper pad is available on request. Appropriate table space is provided in each room. 

Large meeting rooms

These large rooms have a varied capacity, but are perfect for larger bookings like community groups, art clubs and more.

Which rooms are available?
There are three large rooms available for hire in Bromley Central Library. Our 5th-floor meetings room can sit a group of 15, perfect for community groups. West Wickham Library's Community Space can fit up to 40. 
 
Who are they suitable for?
Ideal for businesses, community groups, award shows, and anyone requiring a larger meeting space for collaborative endeavours.

What facilities are included?
Facilities like projectors, microphones and extension leads are available upon request. Wi-Fi is also available on request.

Events spaces for hire
We have an impressive function room at the heart of our borough: Our large hall at Bromley Central Library is ideal for large or substantial events, seating up to 150 guests comfortably.

Who is this service for?
Our event spaces cater to a diverse array of needs and are suitable for community gatherings, corporate events, lectures, workshops, and public functions.

What facilities are available?
Our function rooms include Wi-Fi, projectors and screens, microphones, flip charts, pens, and a limited selection of HDMI/USB C cables. Further facilities such as light refreshments and crockery are available at an additional fee. Please see individual listing pages for details.

Bromley Room Hire FAQs

When are the rooms available?
Typically, library rooms are available for hire for the same period of times as the library is open. For instance, at Bromley Central Library, bookings are available from 09:30-19:00 on weekdays, and 09:30-17:00 on Saturday, and are closed on Sunday.

What are the standard room hire rates?
Standard rates for room hire vary based on the type of room and its location. Check our room booking platform or contact your local library to find out more.
Are there any discounted rates on room bookings?

My local library doesn't have any meeting rooms - can I visit another location?
Yes! Whether you're a member or not, everyone is welcome at our room hire venues across our locations. 
Is additional equipment available?
Some of our rooms have additional equipment available to hire, e.g. projector and screen, smart screen, cables etc. These are available on a first come first served basis. To request additional equipment please contact BromleyLibraryHallHire@gll.org or call 020 3931 0900 with your booking reference.
