Shani Akilah

We are looking forward to welcoming writer, screenwriter and book influencer, Shani Akilah to the library on Wednesday 31 July. Doors open at 6pm for a 6.30pm start as she discusses her sharply relatable, deeply tender collection of short stories about the hopes and heartbreaks of a group of young Black-British friends in London. Join Shani as we celebrate her funny and thought-provoking debut collection, For Such a Time as This.

Katie Lumsden

Join us for an evening with author Katie Lumsden as she discusses her latest book, "The Trouble with Miss Montgomery Hurst" On Thursday 1 August 2024 at The Woolwich Centre Library from 5.45pm onwards. There will an 'in conversation' hosted by staff member Abby followed by an author reading and Q&A. We will be joined by booksellers from Waterstones Blackheath who will be selling copies of Katie's book, which you may then have signed. Book your free ticket

At the end of the 1-day workshop participants will produce a paper prototype, an interactive prototype and present to the group.
