Southbury Leisure Centre was delighted to host a major Enfield Council Recruitment Fair, welcoming more than 1,500 visitors through its doors throughout the day.

The event, which ran from 8am to 2pm, took place across the centre’s Sports Hall, Activity Room and Training Room, bringing together around 60 different employers and organisations. Attendees had the opportunity to speak directly with organisations including RAC and National Rail, alongside many other local and national employers.

Southbury Leisure Centre also hosted its own recruitment stand, with members of the team on hand to speak to visitors about employment opportunities with Better and the wider range of services available at the centre.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to connect with the local community, with visitors also encouraged to create a Better account to stay connected with future activities, programmes and opportunities available at Southbury Leisure Centre.

Alongside supporting local recruitment, the Southbury team engaged with more than 50 organisations attending the fair to discuss corporate membership opportunities, generating 14 new business contacts for future partnership discussions.

Cllr Alessandro Georgiou was also in attendance during the event, while dedicated interview workshops were delivered from the centre’s Training Room to provide additional support to people looking to take their next step into employment.

The day was also showcased across social media, with content shared through both Southbury Leisure Centre and Enfield Council’s Instagram channels, helping to highlight the event to the wider community.

The successful event demonstrated Southbury Leisure Centre’s ability to host large-scale community events across multiple spaces while supporting employment, local businesses and wider community engagement.

Southbury Leisure Centre is proud to continue working alongside Enfield Council and local partners to provide opportunities that benefit residents across the borough.
