Shortlands Library is closed for safety reasons. For further updates on the status of the building, please click on the ‘Find out more’ button at the bottom.

During the library’s temporary closure a click and collect service will be available for
reservations, there will be adult and children’s books to borrow, the Summer Reading Challenge
and you can join your favourite activities every week.

Every Monday from 9.30am-1pm and 2pm-5.30pm
Every Saturday, 9.30-1pm and 2pm-5pm

While visiting our temporary click and collect service, why not join in with one of your favourite regular activities:

Mondays
10am Baby Bounce & Rhyme, 0-3 years - Bring your baby and join in with songs and rhymes
10.45am Easy Peasy Colour & Stick - all ages
2.15pm Tea and Topics Drop-in social group for adults with speakers, quizzes, games & free refreshments

Saturdays
11am Drop-in LEGO for children of all ages
2.30pm Drop-in craft for children 4 and upwards

Orpington Library Open

(Update: Wednesday 9th of September)

Orpington Library will be open as normal today at 9.30am.
We thank you for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Please also be aware we are extending our Summer Reading Challenge hand-in date to Monday the 14th to make up for our period of closure, while reward stocks last. Call before setting out to avoid disappointment.
