Gym at Birchwood Leisure Centre

At Birchwood Leisure Centre, you’ll find a friendly gym right at the heart of the local area. Whether you enjoy group fitness classes or prefer training on Technogym equipment, there’s space to work out in a way that suits you. The gym has 50 stations, a dedicated stretching area, and a functional zone to help you shape your sessions. There’s also a pool and health suite, so you can mix exercise with time to relax.

What's Available at Birchwood Leisure Centre?

Cardio zone

Cardio zone

The cardio zone includes 23 stations with treadmills, bikes, and cross trainers. You’ll also find Technogym SkillUp and SkillRow equipment to add variety to your sessions. An arm bike is available too, making the space accessible for people with lower body mobility needs. It’s a good area for building stamina and keeping your heart active.

Strength zone

The strength zone includes squat racks, a deadlift platform, and plate-loaded Technogym equipment. Dumbbells range from 4 to 40kg, giving you options to train at your own level. Staff are nearby to offer support or guidance if you need it.

Functional zone

Functional zone

In the functional fitness zone, you can use kettlebells, slam balls, and medicine balls for bodyweight exercises and circuit-style training. This area works well for changing up your routine and trying different movements, helping you build confidence over time.

Resistance Zone

While there isn’t a separate resistance zone, resistance machines are placed throughout the gym. These help you work all the main muscle groups, with adjustable settings to suit different levels. It’s an easy way to focus on balanced strength training.
