The world class venue, located in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, gave the former Olympian the opportunity to experience the excitement of track cycling.
The Flying Lap taster session is designed to provide participants with a taste of velodrome cycling, where riders aim to complete a lap of the track as quickly as possible.
Jeremy Northrop, General Manager at Lee Valley VeloPark, said: “It was a huge honour to welcome a sporting icon such as Sir Steve Redgrave to Lee Valley VeloPark.
“Watching Sir Steve Redgrave take on the Flying Lap taster proves what a great experience it is and it should surely inspire others to give it a go in the future.”
Lee Valley VeloPark is a premier cycling venue in the UK, offering events and activities for cyclists of all levels.
The facility, constructed for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, has become a hub for the cycling community, with riders from across the country coming to utilise the velodrome, road circuit, and mountain bike trails.
