FITNESS CLASSES AT ABRAHAM MOSS LIBRARY & LEISURE CENTRE

Staying motivated can always be a challenge, but with our huge fitness class programme here Abraham Moss Library & Leisure Centre, you're spoilt for choice! Plus our brand new studio provides a fantastic environment for you to workout in! From Cardio classes that will get your heart pumping to Mind and Body classes to help you relax, you’ll find a wide range of fitness classes on our timetable to keep you active and have fun.

Whatever you are looking to achieve we have classes for the whole community, including our Adult Basics classes, designed for seniors, beginners or those wanting to get back to fitness after a break, people referred by their GP and more. We also have our new junior classes for 11-17 year olds.

MIND & BODY

Whether you’re looking for a strength and balance-building Pilates class or want to feel the benefits of a low-impact cardio workout with a Tai Chi session, our Mind and Body classes will help you feel revived and refreshed.

New to exercise? Our Mind and Body Basics classes involve a range of  exercises for beginners, seniors or those looking to build their confidence in the gym and boost their fitness.

So, whether you’re looking to improve your mobility or add time for meditation and reflection into your daily routine, these group low impact workout classes are a great option for everyone, no matter your ability level.

Yoga Basics

With simpler movements & lower intensity, this class is perfect for people starting their fitness journey, older adults, families & anyone looking to build confidence. Train for daily tasks by simulating common movements and muscles you use every day at home, work or during sports.

Pilates

Best for: Low-impact, mobility, and strength

Gently train your physique and improve core strength in a calming atmosphere with Pilates. Combining a range of low impact cardio and strength exercises, this class will teach you focus and muscle control as you transition smoothly between movements to build a revived and resilient you.

Yoga

Best for: Wellbeing, mobility and total body conditioning

Embrace the flow of natural body movements to develop strength, flexibility and a peaceful state of mind. Helping you develop strength and balance, Yoga classes combine movement and meditation to improve your mental and physical health.

Mindfulness

Best for: Relaxation and wellbeing

Get in touch with your mental state through a series of guided meditations. This relaxing, self-focused class will help you make time for reflection during your daily life and understand the importance of being still and living in the moment.

Tai Chi

Best for: With simpler movements & lower intensity, this class is perfect for people starting their fitness journey, older adults, families & anyone looking to build confidence. Train for daily tasks by simulating common movements and muscles you use every day at home, work or during sports.

Group Cycle

Best for: Lower body strength and total body conditioningPush yourself with this fun and intense cardio fitness class. Group Cycle is an exciting yet rigorous form of endurance training, ideal for improving lower-body strength and kicking your cardio fitness up a gear.

HiiT

Best for: Total body conditioning and enduranceGet better results faster with one of our HIIT classes. Push yourself to the limit with 30 minutes of quick, intense bursts of exercise followed by short recovery periods that will keep your heart rate up and help you reach your fitness goals. 

Aqua Aerobics

Boxfit

Combat

Best for: Strength training and stress reliefLooking for a fast-paced cardio class? Try our Combat sessions. This is a non-contact boxing-style class that incorporates all the punching and kicking techniques, making it an enjoyable but challenging class.

Step Aerobics

Best for: Coordination and total body fitness Step it up and get in great shape. A motivational class using a platform and fast music for a high intensity workout. It’s so much fun, you’ll forget you’re working out!

Functional Fitness

Best for: Strength, coordination and balanceImprove your strength and balance with this cardio and toning-focused session. Work through exercises designed to work every muscle group in your body and improve your overall fitness.

Stamina

These classes are also designed for everyone to be able to take part, regardless of fitness level or ability. That’s why we have our Basics classes which focus on strength training for beginners, seniors and people who want to gradually build their confidence in the gym.

Power Pump

Circuit Training

DANCE

Dance Fitness

Dance yourself fit with our Dance Fitness classes. These aerobic-style classes combine exercise and choreographed movements with infectious music to make staying active fun and easy.

Fit Beats

Best for: Cardio fitness and coordination

Feel the rhythm with our Fit Beats group dance class. Combining cardio moves with motivating music, this is a great class to energise yourself as you use drum sticks and body movements to release your inner rock star.

OUR BASICS CLASSES

Whatever your level of fitness, everyone is welcome at one of our fitness classes. Our Basics classes are designed for seniors, beginners, juniors or those wanting to get back to fitness after a break, people referred by their GP and more. 

From HIIT and Aqua Aerobics to Pilates and Dance Fitness, these classes for those aged 16 and above combine lower intensity with simpler movements to  help you build confidence and the foundations to get moving.
