Finsbury Squash Players Celebrate Tournament Success

There was plenty to celebrate for our women’s squash players recently, with participants from Finsbury Leisure Centre and Britannia Leisure Centre achieving fantastic results at the Bromley LTC Women’s Open Squash Tournament.

The tournament, held on 13 September 2026, saw the Britannia/Finsbury players complete an impressive clean sweep of the top three places in the F Grade, with Summer taking first place, Anna finishing second and Carol securing third place. The success continued in the D Grade, where Alexia achieved an excellent third-place finish.

What makes the achievement particularly special is that all four players are newcomers to competitive squash. Their journey into the sport began through regularly attending the women’s coached squash sessions at Finsbury and Britannia Leisure Centres, where they have developed their skills, confidence and a real enthusiasm for the game.

Their tournament success is a great example of how coached sessions can provide a welcoming route into sport, helping participants progress from playing recreationally to experiencing competitive squash.
