This January leading health and wellbeing charity, Royal Voluntary Service, has launched it’s first ever leisure centre cafés, in partnership with Better.

The brand new charity café at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre opens officially on the 31st of January and will be ready to welcome all centre guests for a hot drink or a bite to eat.

The newly fitted café will open seven days a week, located inside the main entrance and will be ran by Royal Voluntary Service staff and volunteers. The café is set to be a welcoming place for centre visitors and staff to get high-quality hot and cold food, barista-style coffee, beverages, food for on-site events, and service with a smile, all whilst making a difference. Royal Voluntary Service cafés are fundamental to the work that the charity does in the NHS and the local community, as café profits go towards supporting its invaluable work.

The charity’s work that could benefit from the support of the new café profits include dementia support groups, helping older or isolated people to stay social and active, helping vulnerable people recover after a hospital stay and a number of other services aimed at improving health and wellbeing across Great Britain.

Chris Gray, Head of Retail Operations at Royal Voluntary Service said:We are delighted to be setting up our first leisure centre cafés with Better, which will enable us to continue providing vital support to those who need it most. Our staff and volunteers are bringing a real warmth to the centre and we look forward to welcoming our first customers later this month.”
