Age UK Croydon hosts regular community, social, and coffee morning events at Ashburton Hall to help older residents connect, socialise, and engage in activities.
Welderlies Brunchette meet-up
The Welderlies Brunchette meet-up - supports over 65s with self-care. The meet-up takes place at Ashbuirton Hall and Park Cafe - on the second Thursday each month from 12:00pm-2:00pm
The menu consists of:
Pizza and salad
Jacket potato with beans, or cheese, or tuna with salad
Quiche, cheese and onion, or roasted vegetable with salad
Toasted sandwich with salad
Light dessert
Bottomless tea and coffee
With a planned activity for each session!
The School of Spiritual Martial Ways - Seishinryu Budo
Open to all, past members, new members and anyone who has an interest in martial arts and in particular the spiritual and philosophical aspects of Budo. One doesn't have to be a practicing martial artist to join - just a need to promote peace and harmony through friendly discussions and healthy debate.
Aikido from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm on Sundays.
Body Harmony
Body Harmony is a free flowing programme of movements for well-being and general fitness. It is a low impact form that allows individuals to adapt the movements to suit their personal needs, even those with disabilities or with physical ailments that would normally prelude them from participating.
Body Harmony sessions take place on Thursdays and Fridays at 10:30am-12:00pm
SilverFit
Since Silverfit's founding in 2013 by now 82-year old Eddie Brocklesby, who is the UK’s oldest female Ironman triathlete, we have grown to sessions at 17 venues across 9 boroughs reaching a large number of people who weren't previously active. Each venue offers a choice of activities from Nordic Walking, Yoga, Walking Football, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Badminton, indoor cycling, gym/ fitness classes, indoor rowing and Bollywood dance, which means that everyone should be able to find an activity to enjoy, regardless of ability or experience.
You can find Silver Fit at Ashburton Hall on Wednesdays from 9:15am for Nordic Walking and Yoga
