Active Hive 55+, New 12‑Week Programme Launching This September
We’re excited to announce a brand‑new wellbeing initiative at The Hive Leisure Centre. Active Hive 55+, a free 12‑week activity programme designed specifically for adults aged 55+ who are currently inactive and would benefit from gentle movement, confidence‑building, and friendly social connection.
Sessions will run every Tuesday from 11:15am – 12pm, with Week 1 starting on Tuesday 29th September.
What is Active Hive 55+?
Active Hive 55+ is a welcoming, low‑pressure programme offering a different activity each week, from gentle exercise and mobility work to social sport tasters and movement sessions. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to feel more active, meet new people, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
The programme is delivered as a closed cohort, meaning you’ll take part alongside the same friendly group each week, helping you build routine, familiarity, and peer support.
Who is the programme for?
This initiative is funded specifically for adults who are currently inactive and not already accessing mainstream leisure provision. To protect the integrity of the funding criteria, please note: If you currently have an active membership at The Hive OR if your membership has expired or been cancelled within the last month you unfortunately will not be eligible for this programme.
This ensures the offer reaches those who need it most, people who may feel unsure, nervous, or unable to take the first step into physical activity.
What happens after the 12 weeks?
Participants who attend at least 75% of sessions will receive a free one‑month trial membership, giving you the chance to explore the wider timetable and continue your activity journey with confidence.
Many graduates go on to join our popular senior social sessions, creating long‑term friendships and healthy habits.
