In partnership with Preston City Council, we are pleased to let you know that we're investing a further £210,000 at Better, Fulwood Leisure Centre.
Following on from our £700,000 project to improve a number of areas within the centre including the gym, studios and new health & fitness changing rooms, we'll soon be starting work to refurbish the swimming pool changing village. The project will begin on Monday 24th September 2018, and we expect it to finish on Monday 14th January 2019.
WE'RE MAKING LOTS OF IMPROVEMENTS
As part of the refurbishment you'll soon find:
- Refurbishment of the existing mixed village changing room
- Refresh of the existing group, family and accessible changing rooms
- Refresh of the existing male and female changing rooms
- Refresh of the existing sauna and steam room lobby area
Changes throughout the refurbishment
Whilst we undertake the refurbishment, there will be some minor disruptions at the centre that you need to be aware of:
WEEK COMMENCING MONDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER
Temporary changing rooms will be set up so work can begin on the changing village:
- Temporary female changing rooms will be located in the existing meeting room
- Temporary male changing rooms will be located in the squash court changing rooms
The changing village cubicles and toilets will be closed but the Health and Fitness changing rooms, sauna and steam room will remain open.
WEEK COMMENCING MONDAY 1ST OCTOBER
We will need to fully close the changing village including the sauna and steam room and health and fitness changing rooms. All customers will be required to use the temporary changing rooms for this week.
WEEK COMMENCING MONDAY 8TH OCTOBER
The Health and Fitness changing rooms will re-open during this week. The rest of the changing village will remain closed until the project completes. We expect this to be week commencing Monday 14th January 2019.
POOL PROGRAMME CHANGES
There will be changes to the pool timetable to enable the works to take place. Please refer to the online timetable for up to date information. Pool programme boards in reception will also be updated.
