Junior Gym

Junior Gym

Junior gym is a dedicated session for children between 11 and 17 years old to introduce them to working out in the gym environment and help them start their journey towards a healthy and active lifestyle.

All sessions are supervised, with a member of the Fitness team present, to ensure they are working out safely, offering guidance and advice for the junior to benefit fully from these sessions. 

To participate, it is mandatory to have completed a Junior Gym Induction, pre-book through the online platform or app. Sessions are limited to 60 minutes per person.  

Junior Gym days and times:

Monday-Firday: 15:15-16:15 & 16:20-17:20
Saturday-Sunday: 11:00-12:00 & 12:10-13:10 

Please note that all sessions must now be pre-booked via our online booking system or our app.

You can access these sessions on a pay-as-you-go basis or for best value for money we recommend a Membership as this also includes access to our Junior Fitness Classes, along with access to the swimming pools.

Junior Gym Induction

All juniors are required to book and attend a junior gym induction before attending there first junior gym sessions. Junior inductions are conducted by our level 2 qualified Fitness Instructors in small groups of no more than three people. The induction will go over health & safety information, explain the gym etiquette. Demonstrate the equipment that juniors are allowed to use during their junior gym sessions and how to use this equipment safely and help them on there fitness journey. 

Junior Gym inductions take place:

Monday-Friday: 15:15 & 16:20

Saturday-Sunday: 11:00 & 12:10

Adult & Junior Gym

Would you like to train for free when brining you child along with you?

Our adult and child session, lets any pre paid junior bing an adult come along and train with the junior for free! Adults do not need to book as session as they are booked with the junior, but must be supervised and accompanied by an adult at all times.

Session Days & Times: 
Monday to Friday: 07:00 - 20:00  
Saturday & Sunday: 13:00 - 17:00

Supervision: Please note that the adult/parent must actively supervise the child at all times and takes responsibility for the child's conduct and safe use of machines. Only children between 11-17yrs are permitted in the session, and it is limited to one child per one supervising adult.

Junior Fitness Classes

Junior fitness classes are 55 minute classes being ran on a Thursday 18:15  and are tailored to Junior participants. They are led by our qualified fitness instructors.

The Thursday session is a swim specific strength & Conditioning class in one of our fitness studios. The instructor will take you through a 55 minute work out based on muscles used during swimming, however this can be adapted to other sports, just speak the instructor before the session.

Junior Gym Rules

Juniors will have access to the majority of gym equipment including:

  • Cardio machines (treadmills, cross-trainers, upright bikes, spin bikes, recumbent bikes, ARC Trainers, & rowing machines) 
  • Resistance machines* (chest press, chest fly, seated row, cables pulley machines, leg press, hip adductor, hip abductor, lat pull down, shoulder press, leg extension, hamstring curl, & assisted chin-up & Dip machine) 
  • Functional Area* (TRX ropes, Kettle bells, Punch bag, Skipping Ropes, Steps, Slam Balls, Battle Rope, Plyo Boxes, Core Bags, Tyres & sledge push. 

Juniors are not able to access the Half Rack, Squat Rack, Smith Machine or the Bench Press. 

*Juniors are required to use the lightest weight plates when using the resistance machines and not go heavier than 10kg when using dumbbells.

Due to high demand Junior gym sessions are restricted to 60 minute bookings and you are required to vacate the gym at the conclusion of your session. 

Junior Gym sessions run on the following days and times:

Monday-Firday 15:15-16:15 & 16:20-17:20

Saturday-Sunday 11:00-12:00 & 12:10-13:10

Junior Classes run on the following days and times:

Thursday: Strenght and conditioning 18:15-19:10
