Meet our Manager

Hello. I'm Iona, the General Manager at Better Gym Bexleyheath & Better Gym Sidcup.

I have been with the Company 22 years and counting and I have managed many Leisure centres in that time.

During my career with GLL I have worked my way up from a Customer Service Advisor to a General Manager, working at all levels in numerous Leisure Centres. 

I enjoy my job and I believe in supporting and progressing others to get the best out of my team. One of the best parts of my job is seeing new members of staff join the team and watching them develop and progress their careers.

I enjoy working around a variety of ages and love how inclusive our gyms are to the public. It’s great to see how fitness can impact people’s mental and physical wellbeing and I am proud to say I’m part of that journey.

Better Gym Bexleyheath & Better Gym Sidcup have a home from home atmosphere, really friendly and welcoming. At both centres we have created a safe and comfortable space for members to come into and exercise. We want our members to feel welcome and to have a positive experience every time they enter our gyms with our friendly and knowledgeable staff always available to help with anything you need.

At Bexleyheath and Sidcup we understand that everyone’s goals, experiences and abilities are different but we are always willing to help to ensure you get the most out of your gym!

For me I love leading the teams at both centres and bringing our members together to give that better experience.
