Welcome to Riverside Park and Pools

Come to Riverside Park and Pools for a dip in our heated outdoor pool or time with your family around the Splash Park for children. You'll also find a cafe plus camping site if you fancy a break with the family.

Pre-book your spot

All swim sessions in the lido, for members and non-members, should be prebooked in advance and can be booked 7 days in advance either via the Better UK app on the Riverside Park and pool page, or online here, to avoid disappointment.

Lido is closed for the season, please check back later. 

Before your visit

Don't forget to take a look at the timetable to pre-book the right session for you. If you're taking the family, choose Swim for All. The timetable will be available soon.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, please pre-book a session via the Riverside Park and Pool page on the Better app or online. 

How long can I swim for?

Swim sessions are 50 minutes long.

How many sessions can I book a day?

You can book one session a day.

Can I just turn up?

To guarantee a session, we recommend booking online or via the Better app in advance. 

Can I bring umbrellas, deck chairs, snorkels, inflatables etc?

You can bring umbrellas, deck chairs and inflatables but only small ones such as beach balls and small inflatable rings. You can use snorkels in the training-snorkel style during Swim for Fitness sessions. You can not wear sea-style goggles covering the nose.

Is there a café at the centre?

Refreshments are sold from the main reception until the summer when we get a small kiosk.

What temperature is the water?

The pool temperature is set at 25 degrees but may fluctuate slightly.

Do the sessions still go ahead when it rains?

Yes, the pool only closes due to adverse weather conditions. 

Is there anywhere to change and leave my belongings?

Yes, you'll find communal changing cubicles for customers to change in and lockers that take £1 coin or trolley tokens which we sell. 

How much are the lockers?

Lockers cost £1 or you can buy trolley tokens to use. 

What does it cost to swim?

Can children swim?

Yes, children are welcome at Riverside Park and Pool. Please follow our Swim Safely policy of 1 competent adult to 2 under 8’s or under 16 non-swimmer. 

What is the last entrance time?

The last slot is 50mins before the session finishes but if you don’t need that long, you can come in whenever during this but would have to leave at the end of the booking.

 

How can I claim lost property?

Please email a description of your lost personal belonging as best you can to Riverside@gll.org or pop down and we can look for you.

 

Can I hire towels?

Towels are not available to hire at Riverside Park and Pools.

 

Do you have swimming hats, goggles to purchase?

We have a small selection of Speedo items including armbands, goggles and noodles.

 

Is parking available and if so, how much does it cost?

Parking costs from £1 for 1 hour and up to £3 for 10 hours at Riverside Car Park, Wallingford, OX10 0BU.

 

Are changing rooms available?

You'll find a changing village with showers at the pools.

 

Do you hold gender specific sessions?

No, we do not currently have any gender-specific swim sessions.
