Better to offer free Outdoor Fitness classes from 29 March
Better will be offering free Outdoor Fitness Classes for its members until it is able to operate indoor classes for multiple customers in studios from 17 May.
As the Government Lockdown Roadmap allows, Outdoor Exercise in England can start on 29 March and Better will launch its outdoor fitness offer across 60 locations in the UK (Wales and N Ireland dates to be confirmed by regional governments) - with a different class every day.
Class participants can choose from Dance Fitness, Functional Fitness, HiiT, Aerobics, Circuit Training, Zumba and Combat.
All the one hour sessions must be pre-booked on the Better_UK app with pre-paid Better Health & Fitness Members getting free access to all classes.
Class participants are assured of the highest levels of Covid Safety with 2m minimum spacing and clean down between sessions.
Customers should arrive ‘gym ready’ in their kit as no changing rooms (or toilets) are available at the present time under Covid regulations.
Sessions cancelled due to poor weather are refundable/rebookable and customers will be notified as necessary.
Marco Coppola, Better’s National Fitness Manager said:
“Following three successive lockdowns our customers cannot wait to return to their exercise fix.
“Offering a safe and fun outdoor fitness class option until we can operate indoors is the best way we can support our customers through Covid – which has taken its toll on physical fitness.
“Better are very much the hub of health and wellbeing in local communities and we want to reassure our customers it is safe to return because we now know that underlying poor health contributes to the severity of Covid illness.”
Outdoor fitness sessions will use available areas including green spaces, car parks, AstroTurf areas, pitches and courts or athletic tracks.
