The North Kesteven Community Sports Team have formed a new and exciting relationship with Lincolnshire FA and 3 local community groups, all for the love of football.

The community team we’re approach by a nearby day care centre earlier in the year who wanted to bring along a group to the over 50’s session to try out Walking Football. The Community Sports Officer, a keen female footballer and coach herself chose to go one BETTER.

On 24 April 2019, with funding provided through the FA Disability Workforce Fund and support from the FA Disability Football Officer the team launch their first session.

Aimed as a fun, engaging and inclusive session the uptake was overwhelming and now in it’s 4th week continues to prove a very welcome addition to the Community engagement programme in North Kesteven. Each week one or two new faces arrive with us to run, pass, score and play freely for an hour each Wednesday morning.  Some players of a higher standard also have the option of moving into the Lincs FA Disability League.

When asking for feedback from the group they told us:

“Thankyou so much for yesterday, the guys absolutely loved it and we are all really happy with the session and excited to play again next week!!”

A big well done to the team at ONE NK, long may it continue.
