Bedford offers a Cool Spaces

The cafe area at John Bunyan Sports and Fitness Better Leisure Centre is providing a 'Cool Space' for anyone seeking respite from the heat.

The initiative supports those who may be vulnerable this summer - which in many areas is turning into a record season for high temperatures and repeated heatwaves. Anyone can use the service - including non-members.

As well as offering a welcoming, cool environment, people will be able to enjoy:

- Free drinking water
- Seating areas
- Air conditioning or naturally cool indoor spaces
- Public Wi-Fi
- Phone/device charging facilities (where available)
- Café or refreshments available to purchase
- Toilets and other visitor amenities
