Senior Multi Sports
Exciting news for our senior members! The Sands Centre is introducing a new session called Senior Multi Sports aimed at seniors aged 60 and above from October. This fantastic initiative is designed to keep our beloved seniors active, foster new friendships, and improve their social, mental, and physical well-being. We encourage everyone to join in and give it a go!
Senior Activity sessions will take place every Monday morning from 9am to 12pm, providing a vibrant and engaging environment for seniors to participate in a range of enjoyable activities. The Sands Centre, with its recently redeveloped and improved facilities, is the perfect setting for seniors to come together and have a great time.
The main objective is to promote holistic health among seniors, aligning with the values and goals of the NHS agenda. By engaging in regular physical activity and social interaction, seniors can significantly enhance their overall well-being. The NHS recognises the importance of staying active and socially connected, and senior activites at The Sands Centre aligns perfectly with these principles.
The senior multi sport session offers a diverse array of activities to cater to various interests and fitness levels. Participants can enjoy engaging in activities such as badminton, table tennis, short mat bowls, fitness classes, and even go for a refreshing swim afterward. These activities are not only fun but also help maintain good physical fitness and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Following the invigorating session, participants can unwind and socialise in the inviting atmosphere of the Riverside Café. There, they can enjoy a hot drink and perhaps indulge in a sweet treat while relishing the companionship of newfound friends.

Looking to become more active or get back in to swimming our exclusive lane-swimming sessions where we run no lanes for more social swimming, book yourself in to one of these sessions to have that refreshing swim whilst connecting with like minded individuals. Making new friends and keeping active at the same time.
These sessions run on a Monday and Friday at 8am - 8:50am
Senior Health and Fitness
Come along and enjoy the gym facilities during a time where one of our fitness instructors will be on hand to give advice. Helping to explain the benefits of the different equipment and exercises to help you get the most out of your gym session. This is the perfect session for you to try the gym for the first time or get back in to exercise.
