Festive fun across Better Leisure Centres in Cornwall
There is plenty of festive fun to be had in Better leisure centres throughout Cornwall this Christmas.
Free swim sessions are being offered at Saltash, Bude, Helston, St Ives and Truro to Swim School members and up to three members of their family, whilst St Austell and Newquay are giving their swim school members free soft play.
Bodmin Leisure Centre is holding a Christmas Pickleball Festival on Wednesday 17th December from 6pm-8pm – a mix and match social event that encourages fancy dress and includes team games and mince pies. The centre is also hosting a children’s Christmas party on Friday 19th December from 4pm-6pm, with Christmas-themed tennis games, a bouncy castle and a visit from Santa.
On Saturday 20th December, Newquay is running a junior Christmas trip that includes trampoline bouncing followed by Ten Pin Bowling and, on 19th December, a Silent Disco in the Trampoline Park from 5pm-7pm.
Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs nine leisure centres in Cornwall on behalf of the council, and a full programme of activities will be available in each of them over the festive period.
“Family fun swimming, aqua splash, fitness classes and gym workouts all feature on our schedules, as well as special events to celebrate the time of year,” said Ben Wilkinson, GLL Partnership Manager in Cornwall.
“With all the eating and drinking over Christmas, it’s good to get out of the house and do some exercise in a welcoming, social, and very merry setting, which is what our centres provide.”
