The team at St Austell Leisure Centre are pleased to announce that after a recent assessment they have been awarded ISO 14001:2015.
ISO 14001 is an international environmental management system standard which reflects a genuine commitmment to managing energy. The team at St Austell Leisure Centre have developed their energy management skills in areas such as:
Focusing on becoming environmentally friendly for example with endeavours to become plastic free and reduce our Carbon footprint by 2% year on year
Effective management of compliance obligations such as water management, fire safety and wider health and safety considerations.
Reducing energy consumption through proactive energy management and investment in buildings such as combined heat and power units, pool covers and LED lighting.
Focusing on increasing recycling and reducing general waste sent to landfill.
Training staff on energy awareness and identifying an Energy Champion
Amelia Kitchen, General Manager comments 'The team have worked hard to achieve this and I am absolutely delighted with this certification. Moving in 2020 we plan to continue the good work with our energy management and are especially keen to address a plastic free agenda.'
