Get Ready For The Team England National Sports Weekend at The Sovereign Centre

Come and join us in partnership with Team England at The Sovereign Centre for a weekend filled with free sports and fun family activities for everyone to enjoy.
Ready to unleash your sporting spirit? Members and non-member can jump in and experience the excitement of Commonwealth Games-inspired sports and activities.
Whether you're trying something completely new or rediscovering a sport you love, there's plenty of fun waiting for all ages and abilities.
The weekend will help you get active, try new activities and discover all the facilities at The Sovereign Centre. As part of the open weekend, we will be offering a selection of free activities designed to help people of all ages and abilities get moving and try something new.

Our in centre Health Checks are a great way to take a simple step towards better wellbeing. We’ll check your blood pressure, resting heart rate, bone density, muscle mass, body fat percentage and hydration levels. Just come down to the gym and turn up - no booking required!

Alongside the free Open Weekend activities, our regular programme will continue throughout the weekend including:

How do I book?
To book our open day activities please visit the Open Weekend tab when booking and select the date you would like to attend. Please note the Swimming Options will be bookable under swimming tab.
What do I need to bring?
Please wear comfortable and appropriate clothing, for all classes and sports hall activities equipment is provided. Please make sure you bring with you a towel and water.
What if I have a health condition?
Please make sure you let the member of staff know about any health conditions prior to activity.
What if I have never been before?
If you're new to any of the activities or unsure about using certain equipment, feel free to ask one of our staff members. We’re here to guide you. If you’re using the gym or taking part in any physical activities today, please ensure you’ve warmed up first. If you need guidance, our fitness instructors are here to help.
Do I have to be a member?
No, our open day event is open to everyone.
Non-members can participate by creating a free account via the app or online at https://bookings.better.org.uk/register, then simply booking an available open day activity. As part of the registration process, customers must agree to the activity terms and conditions, which include a signed waiver granting access into the centre
