Better Libraries to resume more services from 12 April
From today, 12 April, and in line with Government guidance, more library services will be available from Better Libraries in Bromley, Greenwich, Dudley, Lincolnshire and Wandsworth.
Customers will be able to visit libraries to return items, browse a range of stock and access computers, scanners and photocopiers.
Study spaces will be available in some libraries for the first time in over three months.
Some libraries have used lockdown to get a spruce-up and are now offering lighter and brighter spaces.
Outreach Library Services which offer a lifeline to isolated, housebound and vulnerable residents will return also.
Better's digital and remote services will continue. The use of virtual library services increased two hundred percent during the pandemic, with thousands of people accessing books, newspapers, magazines, and music and research tools online.
All Better's library services are provided under Covid 19 Safe protocols with a 72 hour quarantine period for returned books, face coverings and social distancing required, sanitiser points and enhanced cleaning. Social distancing guidelines will be continuing.
Library events and activities will remain online for now including story times, craft sessions, poetry readings, author talks and fitness classes.
