West London Eagles Handball club had 24 of their young Eagles flying west from their nest at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub to take part in the first ever England Handball Summer Cup at the University of Gloucester on the 3rd July.  Normally handball is played indoors but in what has been a challenging season England Handball elected to play an outdoor tournament.  The weather held and a great day of handball was had by all.  Eagles entered three team with two of the teams coming back to base with medals.  The Girls 11-17 were runners up to Essex loosing by 9-8 in what was a very close encounter.  The Boys 11-17 won the tournament beating Nottingham in the final 16-15.  Equally close but on the right side.

The event was a success and is likely to become a permanent fixture on the handball calendar.

Although the handball season is drawing to a close there is some further upcoming opportunities to experience handball at Gunnersbury Park Sport Hub:

- 17 July 1400-1800 eagles are running an open day event.  Entry is free and there will be 45min sessions throughout the day

- 14 Aug 1400-1600 eagles are running a training session/demonstration as part of a Team GB day in conjunction with Gunnersbury Sports Hub between 14:00 - 16:00 in the sports hall.

- 28 Aug 1400-1800 eagles are running a second open day at Gunnersbury Sport Hub
