Join Our Open Day on Saturday 22nd August
Following the success of previous Water Sports Open Days, we will be holding another one on Saturday 22nd August.
On the day we will be offering a range of free activities, which are available for adults and children aged 8 years and above.
These exciting activities will take place from 10am to 3pm on the day and will include the opportunity to try a kayaking group session, a sailing ride around the reservoir or an introduction to open water swimming lesson. The swimming lessons are for adults only and require participants to already be able to swim.
The event will also include free lunch snacks for participants that will be served during a break in the session from 12pm-12.30pm.
There will be limited slots available to pre-book online via the Better website or app. These slots will be available to book from 12pm on Tuesday 18th August.
All remaining slots will be reserved for attendance by a first come first served basis on the day of the event. Doors will open at 9.45am. This is so that the activity is as accessible as possible.
Please note, the activities are aimed at providing an opportunity for those living locally to West Reservoir to access the water. We will not turn away anyone coming from further afield but we would ask everyone to be considerate of whether they are able to access the facilities on another day.

WATER SPORTS PRIZE DRAW

Prize Draw Period The Prize Draw commences at 12:01am on 22/08/2026 and closes at 11:59pm on 04/09/2026. After the closing date no further entries to the Prize Draw will be permitted.
Eligible Entrants Entry is only open to UK residents aged between 8 and 17 years of age. If you are under 18 years old, you represent and warrant to GLL by entering this Prize Draw that your parents/guardians have consented to your entry and to these terms and conditions, which they have read.
Participating Venue West Reservoir Water Sports Centre.
Entry Mechanic To enter the Prize Draw, Eligible Entrants must, during the Prize Draw Period, complete the form with details of both the young person and their parent/guardian.
Entry Limit Only one entry will be accepted per person.
Selecting the Winners The decision to determine the winners will take place at 12:00 on 07/09/2026. Winners will be selected at random by the Community Sports Manager.
Unclaimed Prize In the event of any unclaimed prize(s), the Promoter will hold an unclaimed prize until 09:00 on 09/09/2026, after such time the prize will be reallocated.
Notification Winners will be notified by email and phone by 17:00 on 07/09/2026. Entrants are responsible for having ongoing access to the relevant inbox/phone. GLL's decision in respect of all matters relating to the prize will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Intellectual Property Rights GLL reserves the right to use your entry to copy, reproduce, modify, adapt and otherwise communicate it to the public, including via our website and publicity materials and on social media. For the avoidance of doubt, GLL shall not sell or commercially exploit your entry without your consent.
Use of Data Any personal data relating to winners, or any other entrants, will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant's prior consent.
Prize(s) Winners selected from all eligible entries received during the Prize Draw Period will each win a place on a six week sailing or kayaking course. Prizes are subject to availability, and GLL reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
Prize Distribution Prizes will be provided to winners within ten days of the Prize Draw closing date via their first kayaking/sailing session at West Reservoir Water Sports Centre.
Total Maximum Prize Value Total maximum value of all prizes awarded in the Prize Draw is up to £1,584. No cash alternative is available.

Right To Amend or Cancel GLL shall have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions. GLL also reserves the right to cancel or amend the Prize Draw if circumstances arise outside of its control. Any changes to the Prize Draw will be notified to entrants as soon as possible.
