Despite lockdown 2.0 preventing our loyal member’s access to our facilities the past month, the Copper Box Arena has played host to the London Lions for the start of the British Basketball League season. Elite sport athletes were still able to participate and over November the venue hosted 3 matches for the London Lions

Vince Macaulay, Head Coach of the London Lions said.

“It was great that we could begin our season and get back into our home the Copper Box Arena. It is always great returning and whilst we cannot have spectators it is always a great experience playing within this historic arena.”  

This season is another historic one for the Lions, who have played their home fixtures at the Copper Box Arena since 2013 as they embark on their first venture into European Basketball the Lions have had to invest in the squad and have acquired am experience and talented roster with the signing of  previous NBA experience now within the Lions family such as  shooting guard, small forward DeAndre Liggins,

All matches have been played behind closed doors under Covid secure procedures, to get to watch the lions this season you can log on to the and link into streaming service or catch the action on Sky Sports who have agreed a 2 season deal to show matches from the British Basketball League.
