Langthorne Park Festival 2026
Did you see us at Langthorne Park Festival? On Saturday 13th June, over 2000 people attended the annual event. It was an opportunity for the whole community to come together and celebrate the local area. There was a range of fun things to do, food to eat, or stuff to buy from Leyton and Leytonstone vendors. It was organised by several community partners, Holly Trinity Church, Leytonstone Toy Library, Caz who ran Community Kitchen, and Waltham Forest Council.
Better through the team here at Leytonstone Leisure Centre provided table tennis, an outreach stall which featured a tombola with free prizes, and via Dao Lu organised a free Tai Chi class in the amphitheatre with 15 people participating throughout.
Dao Lu are a Feel Good accredited delivery partner who are delivering funded programmes at our Lee Valley sites. We are working with Board Co-chair and Tai Chi plus Qi Gong Instructor, Belinda Calaguas to bring Tai Chi onto our ongoing leisure centre timetable.
Leyton Leisure Centre will be the first to offer this on a Thursday lunchtime at a to be confirmed date for more information make sure you follow us on Facebook or Instagram. If you would like this at Leytonstone Leisure Centre, please complete this 2-minute form.
Summarising the atmosphere at Langhorne Park Festival, Waltham Forest Community Sport Manager for Better, Daniel Bank, “The whole park was busy, and there was positive energy throughout the day, even at 5pm for our community wellbeing activity” Don’t just take our word for it, local resident Sabrina said “It was a great event and the kids enjoyed it. Let me know if there are similar ones happening in the borough”.
