Lincolnshire Show 2026

The team had a successful visit to the Lincolnshire Show once again this year, showcasing memberships, Swim School, Healthwise, and community programmes, with some valuable support from our centre staff over 2 very busy days.

A highlight was the 6-Second Power Test on the Watt Bike, which attracted 197 participants over the two days. Overall, the event gave us a great opportunity to engage with local schools, partner organisations and the public to promote healthier and more active lifestyles within our communities.

Health Checks at Whisby Nature Reserve

The team recently visited Whisby Nature Reserve to deliver a series of free health checks, providing local people with the opportunity to learn more about their health and wellbeing in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

While the event was quieter than anticipated, it still proved to be a valuable opportunity to connect with members of the community and raise awareness of the support and services available.

Despite the smaller turnout, the team enjoyed spending time at the reserve, engaging with visitors and encouraging positive conversations around health and wellbeing.

Drowning Prevention Week

Sleaford Leisure Centre marked Drowning Prevention Week on 13 June with themed swimming lessons and one of its popular colouring competitions.

The activities helped young swimmers learn important water safety messages in a fun and engaging way, while families enjoyed getting involved in the competition.

The initiative highlighted our ongoing commitment to promoting water safety and helping children build confidence in and around the water.

Walking Festival 6th – 21st June

We were proud to support the North Kesteven Walking Festival, which took place from 6–21 June, by working with clubs based at our centres to offer free taster sessions for local residents.

The initiative gave people the opportunity to try a range of activities and discover new ways to stay active, including Walking Football and Walking Netball sessions.

We would like to thank all the clubs that supported the festival and warmly welcomed new participants throughout the event. Their enthusiasm helped introduce more people to the physical, social and wellbeing benefits of walking sports, making the festival a great success.
