As a charitable social enterprise, we’re dedicated to enhancing the services we provide to your local community. We’re excited to announce a major redevelopment of Fulwood Leisure Centre, bringing a range of new upgrades throughout the facility.
Reception Area
The reception area will be refreshed with new signage and customer information boards to keep you up to date with the latest developments at the centre. We will also be adding some images and colour to the corridors and circulation spaces to uplift the look and feel.
Cardio Equipment
Following last year's improvements to the gym - including functional and strength equipment, as well as some replacement treadmills - we are now upgrading the rest of our cardio kit. This will include all of your current favourites, along with the addition of two Technogym Stair Climbers.
Toddler's World
Our brand-new, two-level Toddler’s World is expected to open in July and will feature a range of fun and safe attractions, including: the Eye Spy Live Action feature, a slide and ball pit, a mirror infinity deck, rainbow panel, mini trampoline, rockers and wobbly character, brick kit, and a port hole deck.
Group Cycle Studio
We are transforming an unused space near the squash courts into a state-of-the-art Group Cycle Studio.
Features:
- Latest branding and LED feature lighting for an immersive experience
- Air conditioning and fans to keep you cool while you work out
- Brand-new Technogym bikes, along with an updated class programme offering sessions for all abilities and fitness goals
Timelines:
- 29th May: Soft Play closure
- From 29th May: Works begin
- 30th May: Branding installation
- 7th July: Studio launch
Poolside and Changing Rooms
We will be making significant improvements in these areas to enhance your experience and refresh the overall look of this space.
Features:
- New flooring throughout the changing village, health suite, and pool halls
- New decoration on pool hall walls for a modern look and feel
- Fixed seating for spectators in the viewing areas
Timelines:
- 28th July – 24th August: Poolside and wet change area closed
- 28th July: Pool hall works begin
- 11th August – 24th August: Full closure of poolside, wet change, and dry change areas
- 25th August: Refurbished poolside and changing rooms reopen
Disruptions to service
During these works, we will aim to keep any disruption to a minimum:
- The gym, studio, and group cycle fitness classes will remain available throughout the period of work.
- The swimming pools will be closed for 4 weeks, from Monday 28th July, and will reopen on Monday 25th August.
Swimming lessons will relocate to West View, with the same teachers and at the same times.
Aqua Aerobics will also relocate to West View. Please note that the times for Aqua Aerobics are likely to change, and we will communicate any updates via our instructors, reception team, and published timetables. - The Health Suite and Changing Rooms, including showers, will be closed for 2 weeks, from Monday 11th August, reopening on Monday 25th August.

As a reminder, your memberships already include access to West View Leisure Centre, which may better suit your needs during the periods of closure.
