National Fitness Day is the perfect opportunity to get moving, try something new and take a step towards a healthier, more active lifestyle.
This National Fitness Day (16th September 2026), our leisure centres across Reading are offering a range of free taster sessions, gym challenges and expert support to help customers discover new ways to enjoy being active.
Whether you’re completely new to exercise, looking to get back into a routine or simply want to try something different, there’s something for everyone at Meadway Sports Centre, South Reading Leisure Centre, Palmer Park Leisure Centre & Stadium and Rivermead Leisure Centre.
Meadway Sports Centre:
- Women’s Lifting Taster Session: 6.30am – 7.30am
- Gym Taster Sessions: 9am – 9pm
South Reading Leisure Centre:
- Legs, Bums and Tums Taster Session: 9.30am – 10.30am
- Gym Taster Sessions: 9am – 8pm
Rivermead Leisure:
- Gym Taster Sessions: 9am – 2pm and 6pm – 8.30pm
- Strength & Conditioning (S&C) Masterclass: 6.10pm – 6.55pm
Palmer Park Leisure Centre & Stadium
- High-Wattage Gym Challenges: Test yourself and challenge an FI
- Boxfit Taster Session with Matt: 5.55pm – 6.25pm
- Gym Taster Sessions: 9am – 9pm
- Staff will be on hand to demonstrate machines and advise on the best ways to achieve your goals. - Let’s Refocus: Asanga, Tom and Matt will create programme cards to help customers get the most out of their membership and gym experience.
