Introducing Our Community Bookshelf
At Donyngs Leisure Centre, we're always looking for new ways to bring our community together. That's why we're delighted to introduce our new Community Bookshelf, a simple initiative designed to encourage reading, sharing, and connecting with others.
Take a Book, Leave a Book
The idea is simple:
See a book you'd like to read? Take it home and enjoy it.
Finished a great book? Leave it on the shelf for someone else to discover.
No book to donate right now? That's okay too. You're still welcome to borrow one.
Our Community Bookshelf is open to everyone who visits the centre, creating an informal book exchange that is free, accessible, and driven by the generosity of our members.
Building a Community Through Reading
Books have a unique way of bringing people together. Whether it's a gripping thriller, an inspiring biography, a heartwarming novel, or a practical guide, every book on the shelf has the potential to spark new interests and conversations.
By sharing books with one another, we're helping to:
Encourage a love of reading.
Give pre-loved books a new home.
Reduce waste by reusing and recycling books.
Create connections between members of our community.
How You Can Get Involved
We're always grateful for book donations. If you have books at home that you've finished reading and no longer need, consider bringing them along on your next visit.
We kindly ask that donated books are:
In good, clean condition.
Suitable for general audiences.
Free from excessive damage or missing pages.
Find Your Next Great Read
Next time you're visiting the centre, take a moment to browse the Community Bookshelf. You never know what hidden gem you might discover.
Whether you're looking for your next page-turner or simply want to pass on a favourite book, we invite you to be part of this growing community initiative.
