Over 80 students aged between 11 and 19 from across the county came together on Wednesday to compete in the cumbria schools county final.

17 schools took part in the event altogether. They were spilt into 2 divisions- PD (physical disability) and PAN (learning/behaviour/sensory).

We had 3 groups of 4 and 1 group of 5 for PAN and 4 teams playing in the PD division.

All games were refereed by students from local schools that have attended young officials training. Around 14 in total who were great throughout the day!

With there being so many PAN teams- the top 2 from each group went through to a quarter finals, then semi final and then final etc.

With the PD they played each other twice in a round robin format.

The top 3 from each division would then qualify for the regionals comp in Liverpool which will take place in February next year.

Its such a great event for the children to be able to take part in. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and got chance to play some boccia.
