Come and join us in partnership with Team England at Abbey Sports Centre for a weekend filled with free sports and fun family activities for everyone to enjoy.
Ready to unleash your sporting spirit? Members and non-member can jump in and experience the excitement of Commonwealth Games-inspired sports and activities.
Whether you're trying something completely new or rediscovering a sport you love, there's plenty of fun waiting for all ages and abilities.
What’s on:
Family Fun swim
Take a dip in our pool with your family at family fun swim sessions available throughout the weekend – ideal for those looking to boost their water confidence or simply splash around and have fun.
Try the Gym – no membership needed!
Always wanted to explore our gym? Now’s your chance! Our fully equipped fitness suite will be open for you to use at no cost. Our friendly staff will be available to offer guidance, equipment demonstrations, and short induction sessions for those trying out the gym for the first time.
Junior Football drop-ins
Get active and develop your football skills at our Junior Football Drop-In sessions. Perfect for young players of all abilities, these fun and friendly sessions provide the chance to practice, play matches, and build confidence while making new friends.
Bouncy Castle
Let the kids jump, bounce, and burn off some energy on our exciting bouncy castle. A great way for children to stay active and have fun in a safe and supervised environment, making it the perfect activity for a day of family entertainment.
Free Foundation Water Safety Lesson
Build confidence in and around the water with our Free Foundation Water Safety Lessons. Designed for beginners, these fun and engaging sessions introduce essential water safety skills and basic swimming techniques, helping children develop confidence while learning how to stay safe in the water.

Who can attend?
Everyone is welcome! Whether you're a family with young children, a couple looking to get active, or an individual curious about what we offer, this weekend is designed for all ages and abilities. Come as you are – no pressure, no sign-up required.
Non-members can participate by creating a free account via the app or online at Register, then simply booking an available open day activity. As part of the registration process, customers must agree to the activity terms and conditions, which include a signed waiver granting access into the centre.

What do the classes involve?

What do I need to bring?
Please wear comfortable and appropriate clothing for all classes. Please make sure you bring a towel and water with you. If you go for swim please make sure you have appropriate swim wear.
What if I have a health condition?
Please make sure you let the members of staff know about any health conditions prior to activity.
What if I have never been before?
If you're new to any of the activities or unsure about using certain equipment, feel free to ask one of our staff members. We’re here to guide you. If you’re using the gym or taking part in any physical activities today, please ensure you’ve warmed up first. If you need guidance, our fitness instructors are here to help.
Do I have to be a member?
No, our open day sessions are open to everyone. Non-members can participate by creating a free account via the Better UK app or online at register then simply booking an available open day activity.
