Welwyn Woodland Wellbeing Group New Sessions For Adults

Come and join Culturewood Forest School for their new Welwyn Woodland Wellbeing Group for 18 years and over

The sessions are a journey of wild discovery, including campfire cooking, mindfulness and community re-wilding

Stanborough Park work in partnership with Culturewood Forest School to provide sessions for all demographics of the community to educate users of the importance of the protection of ecology and biodiversity of our local habitat

Culturewood Forest School have recently been successful in being awarded funds from the Welwyn Hatfield Community Fund Grant to purchase equipment for current sessions and to be able to provide new sessions for adults and those with disabilities

A quote from Tanya Dickson Culturewood Forest School upon the receipt of the funding:

"This funding has allowed us to purchase a large range of equipment and resources for our customers to use on our various outdoor focused activities. We have been able to purchase larger items (such as a trolley) which has helped make it easier to transport all our resources to various parts of the park that we use. Being able to transport a wider variety of equipment means we can offer a wider range of events and activities to all our local families and community groups (adults and childre of all ages). As an organisation with sustainability and environmental concerns at the forefront of everything we do, we aim to only use resources which can be reused, or materials which are biodegradable."

Running Forest Schools and other outdoor activities promotes physical and mental wellness. The sessions promote physical wellbeing by keeping participants active. Forest School activities demonstrate a wide range of motor skills, and other physical skills, for example using hand tools, taking nature walks, managing woodland for conservation and physical activities like creating new wildlife habitats.

The new Welwyn Woodland Wellbeing sessions start on Saturday 5th February 2022 at Stanborough Lakes
