With over 50 stations, the gym offers a range of equipment for everyone. You can choose from cardiovascular machines such as treadmills and rowers, resistance equipment including free weights and dedicated stretching areas and fitness aids such as Swiss balls.

For a fitness programme tailored to your needs, just ask a Better Fitness Instructor and they'll be happy to put together a workout to suit you.

Before using the gym you'll need to complete an induction. This gives you the opportunity to get advice about other activities the centre may offer which could help you achieve your fitness goals. Re-focus sessions are available to you at any time to mix up your fitness programme.

Swimming is great at any age. Whether you want to improve your technique, get fit, meet new friends, compete or have fun, you're sure to find a pool session that you'll love.

There are two pools in the centre. The fitness pool is 25 metres long, with 6 lanes. The leisure pool is a good introdution to swimming as it's shallow for un-confident swimmers as well as creating a great facility for toddlers and juniors.

With family changing available directly from poolside as well as changing rooms. Poolside seats are available. Disabled access is available both in the changing room and on poolside.

Fitness Classes

Vary your workout why not try a fitness class. We offer a range of classes - from beginners to advanced level - in a fun and sociable environment.

We also provide specialist equipment for the latest classes such as Circuits and Total Body Conditioning.

What you need to provide

You need to provide nappies, wet wipes, nappy cream (if needed), a change of clothes, a snack and a drink for your child. It would be very helpful if you could label their bags and any other belongings.

Personal Training

Our personal trainers provide exercise programmes for all areas of general fitness, and are there to give you all the motivation and support you need to achieve your goals.

Your trainer will design a progressive training workout just for you. They'll select the appropriate loads, reps, sets and sequence of exercises, ensuring your time is best spent, giving much better results than if you were training alone. They'll also offer nutritional and lifestyle advice.

Workouts will be challenging, educational yet fun, and hopefully you'll find the experience has a positive effect on your whole life!

All personal trainers have REPS (Register of Exercise Professionals) level 3 qualifications or equivalent, which is the required national standard.


The Better Healthwise Team provide independently tailored opportunities for patients with existing medical conditions to be referred to a specifically designed physical activity programme, at an affordable rate – a programme designed to help them manage and improve their health.

Witney and District Swimming Club provides individuals of all ages living in West Oxfordshire, an opportunity to experience swimming within a local competitive swimming club. Swimmers can enjoy the fun of swimming at all levels from training for fitness to a competitive level competing against clubs in the South East region.

We pride ourselves on competing successfully at all levels, from local friendly galas to National Championships.
