Residents in West Oxfordshire looking to brush up on their swimming skills are encouraged to put a toe in the water and try out a special initiative.

Better, which provides leisure services for West Oxfordshire District Council, is offering adults the chance to join their Adult Learn to Swim Programme.

The scheme is open to those aiming to improve their confidence as well as offering classes for beginners.

Emma Lowe 48 from Chipping Norton, said: “I could swim a little but needed to gain confidence in the water and learn proper swimming techniques. The quality of the teaching is excellent. The pace of the lessons are good as we are pushing ourselves just that bit extra each week, but not in a way that I can't keep up.

“I felt so proud when I went to work last Wednesday as I could tell them I had swam a whole length of front crawl.”

Whether you want to keep you and your family safe, find a new hobby, be more active or just reward yourself with some ‘me time’, swimming could be just the thing for you.
