These regular group sessions will give people the opportunity to try the Nordic Walking technique before exploring the local area. Our qualified instructors can guide you on basic techniques and refer you to further structured courses if required.

Venue: Burnholme Sports Centre, Mossdale Avenue, York YO31 0HA

Time: Tuesdays 1:00-2:00pm

Nordic Walking provides a whole body workout benefiting both physical and mental health. It can be accessed by a range of participants including those with pre-existing medical conditions and supports rehabilitation from injury. It provides a whole body workout with general health benefits including 20% increase in O2 uptake with increased calorie expenditure and Heart rate compared to walking.

Sturdy footwear and clothing suitable for the elements are required. Nordic Walking poles are supplied.

Booking: Places are limited so advanced booking is recommended via the Better UK app or via www.better.org.uk Sessions can be found under the "Other Activities" tab.
