Dorothy House Hospice Care delivered their first Big Breakfast 5k fun run at Odd Down Sports Ground in Bath on Sunday 13th October and over 365 people signed up to take part.

Runners of all ages groups took part and everyone wore sports gear, pyjamas or fancy dress.

The total amount raised is still being calculated and all proceeds will go to the hospice in Winsley.

One team, The Nutters ran the fun run dressed in breakfast-themed clothes and took part in memory of Darren Scott who was cared for by Dorothy House and died in 2017.

Darren’s family decided to do the run together to mark what would have been his 50th birthday on Sunday.

Darren’s father, Allen Scott, also won the prize for best dressed adult at the event with his Wee Willie Winkie outfit.

Another team who took part in the fun run dressed up as bananas and called themselves Bananas in Pyjamas.

All the runners enjoyed a breakfast bap from Odd Down Cafe at the end of the run plus a free mug with a hot drink as a much-deserved reward.

Better supported the event with free hire of the facility. General Manager Emily Griffiths said "It was great to support this community event and we are really pleased with how many people took part despite the wet weather. We look forward to working with Dorothy House Hospice Care again to hopefully make this an annual event at Odd Down Sports Ground".
