Belfast’s £105m Leisure Transformation Programme has come top in the leisure category for the inaugural Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Social Impact Awards 2020, Northern Ireland.
The awards recognise the positive impact that building quality has on people’s lives, this means Belfast’s Leisure Transformation Programme will now go forward from the Regional Heats to the UK Finals which aim to take place in September 2020.
Three new Belfast centres have opened so far – Olympia, Lisnasharragh and Brook – with the recently completed Andersonstown Leisure due to open later this year.
Jacqui Pope, GLL Head of Service, said “The Leisure Transformation programme has already truly transformed leisure provision right across Belfast. We are extremely proud of this award as recognition of the work our teams have put into the programme.
“GLL’s partnership with Belfast City Council is committed to helping people across the city become more active more often.”
